Excellent results could be achieved by using a laser printer together with transparent adhesive sheets, stick them on transparent semi-rigid sheets and then cut them.
Remember always to use 100% priniting scale.
Printed templates are not all identical
Actually, when using 100% printing scale, modern printers are quite precise. The possible differences are minimal.
Moreover, it's fairly improbable that a micrometric difference could decide an historical battle.
Anyway, in tournaments we suggest using a single kit of templates for both players, so that nobody will have any advantage.
In any case, when an umpire is not available and a limit measurement is contested, the issue can be solved by an odd/even die roll.
What do I need to participate in a tournament?
Usually the organizers provide the game tables and have a computer to check the armies' composition using the spreadsheets.
Participants have to carry what is not explicitly provided by the organizers.
First of all, they must correctly build their armies in the spreadsheets and bring a printed copy of them, together with the relative miniatures in the scale announced for the tournament. The two armies must be possible enemies.
In each sheet is stated which nationalities may be confronted
If the other army choosen is one of that printed in bold, a third French Army is needed. Organizers could announce to have one or two of them ready for this purpose, but it's preferable to build and carry one which is comfortable for your own playing style.
Participants must also have their own tape-meter, their die, and a kit of terrain elements for the proper scale, unless provided by the organizers. About the templates, at least the ability to determine angles of 30, 45 and 60 degrees is needed.
When having an army with few adversaries, such as United States, Ottomans, and others, we suggest to declare it as your main army, otherwise it's far from impossible that you will not use it at all.
Why some nations are not included in tournament spreadsheets?
This is mostly due to the fact that these nations fielded too few troops to reach 250 points.
Different considerations must be done about Hannover.
Since its rebuilding in 1813, Hanoverian army fielded only Landwehr and a few other poorly trained units, therefore the points can't be reached within the limit of 10 units, not even when supporting them with British batteries.
On the other hand, the King's German Legion sheet could be considered a Hanoverian list, because the personnel enrolled in the Legion substantially consisted of Hanoverians, the best trained ones, who took refuge in the United Kingdom since 1803.
